LS Five - Spice Powder

Chinese 5 spice powder is a spice- blend that commonly consists of  herb components : 

Chinese cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, star anise, and Sze chuan peppercorns.There are different variations to the 5 spice powder components where other ingredients like ginger root, turmeric, cardamom, licorice, nutmeg, orange pee land Galangal may be used.

The combination of herbs when cooked will produce all the 5 flavours like sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami. It is a very commonly used ingredient in Chinese cuisine and cooking, where it is added as marinade to meat or poultry stewed, grilled or roasted and as a seasoning in the breading for fried foods.
